How to improve A Maths?

Some people just find it difficult to absorb mathematical concepts. I am one of them. Many people tell me to practise and practise to improve my A Maths but almost 10 papers later, my mathematical skills have not improved greatly. Can anyone suggest any remedy?

Keep doing, and practising the same sums over and over again. You'll see the pattern. Then you'll feel so stupid, coz a maths is nothing more than a series of patterns done over and over again.

i oso dunno why but i believe is becoz during my sec 3 i was kinda "forced" by certain "circumstances"
to keep practising A Maths. i did TONS of practise during sec 3 and probably becoz of this strong foundation I still managed to pass my O levels, and get distinction some more?! 
serious.

try understanding why the concepts are being used..
like calculus is the rate of change of things... which can be used for everything..
and trigonometry is used in shapes and stuff -

mahh fav sub!! do math ques topic by topic until u understand the concepts so well. do tb n tys.. esp tys.. if can do den sure can pass. one lame one but might b a bit helpful.. learn to use calculator properly to avoid careless mistakes. hahahaa..

Is there any other way other than practising and practising? I did about 10 papers after getting back my Prelim A Maths results, which I got an F9, and I haven't seen any improvement.

practise and practise only last you for a short while. Maybe can get distinction for O level, but after that also forget liao.
To make it last, you need to understand the fundamental. Then, 20 years later still can do those sums without problem. Of course, if you intent to drop any maths alltogether after O level, then just practise. But note that you cannot escape maths unless you drop all the science subject as well. Things like physics, computer, econmics and statistics has tons of maths in there, if not more sometimes. -

i took amaths too last time. went thru the same situation as some of you guys. i failed all sch tests (those quizzes held in sch) and inclusive of prelims with the exception of 1 quiz which was the first quiz of sec4 where we had a change of teacher. but i continue to fail.
anyway i practised based on the worked examples then progressed to those questions at the back of each chapters. i slowly challenged myself to do the harder of the questions and practised like hell with TYS.

O lvls B3
not great but i feel there's a reason for having difficult tests in sch, esp those meant to fail you. this will spur you to work hard for yr Os because u know that O lvls is 1 of the largest turning points in yr life. practise DAMN hard.
Step 1 dunno how to do ? ask until u know.
Step 2 still dunno ? look at examples and think until u know.
Step 3 go back to step 1 -

Take 1 10 yr series, do from the front to the back once, then back to front once n front to back again... haha.. sure work...
