Yo, guys and gals! Classic is holding a 9 pin tap challenge...may be a monthly event but see how's the turnout first. So here how it goes....
DATE : 6/7/03 Sunday
Time : 10am
Venue : Classic Bowl
Fees : $40
Games : 8
Eligibility : League players and friends of avg less than 173
Ps : Tom is eligible as confirmed by Uncle Sharrif
As can see, the format is the same as our monthly Challenge but this is a 9 pin tap Challenge.
So if its sucessful, maybe in a month, we get to have a Classic Challenge and a Classic 9 Pin Tap!
So anyone interested?

harmie, u r right to say spinners have best chance to win this tourney, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
Considering 9 pins is a strike, there are definitely going to be exaggerated scores, but if we manage to do the same, its a strike for us too!
Therefore, I'm going to try luck...wat if you cant strike, always get pin 10 and misses it? 9 pins down, still a strike. haha....I'm going to try and get perfect game...

What are the prizes?
I'm going to play too. I have yet to log a 9-pin perfect game. -
Hehe 3 things will always happen in a 9pin tap:
1)U will get more 10pin strikes than yr normal game
2)U will hardly get 9pin on yr first ball
3)U will always miss yr spares
But then again, for $40, i dun mind trying out again. This time got to play better than my classic. ^_^ -

i tink i can count the number of 9 pins i ever got in classic. pins so light u hardly leave single pins. usually 2 pins from light/high pockets and so on...
i'll save my cash for this tourny =)

how do i know what my avg is? i haven't bowled league in a long time..
can i just go try out? what are the prizes like? -
this tournament is subjected to league bowlers and frens "approved" by the organizers. Not sure if other ppl can play.
but u can come down and try ur luck. think should be no problem.
your avg, is based on league avg.
if you dont have ur avg, the organisers have the rite to say yes, or no to you taking part.
but i dun think they will really go to the extreme and stop you from joining. as long as you dont make a one time appearance and walk away with the champion prize...i think the next time, you can play again.

Classic 9 pin tap tournament was held today at 1000h , Classic Bowl (duh!)
all in all we had 58 participants, of which 9 were forumites!
Anyways, 2 out of 9 of our forumites managed to cash in, 3 if u count hi-game awards. (money awards from 18th pos upwards)

Well, some ppl can truely make full use of the advantage of 9pin tap, whereas some of us can't. As usual, the bowling law turn out rite for me; i had more strikes than 9 pin tap and more splits than i do in a normal 10pin game. Well what to do.......
Anyway i heard from uncle shariff that the next classic tourny is held in the afternoon at 2pm. I forgot to ask the date.Dunno why they held in the afternoon, but my guess is that maybe they have another event in the morning. So i think i may give it a miss if the lanes are really used in the morning. I can't imagine playing in the afternoon lanes w/o they reoiling the lanes......cos i dunno how to send the ball out and play a wider arcing hook. haha
