MDIS 7th Annual Bowling Championship 2003

Dear SIM/UOL Bowling Club members,
Greetings from the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS)!
MDIS 7th Bowling Championship is here again and this year, we are proud to extend the invitation to SIM/UOL bowlers to be part of our annual event. This championship aims to provide individuals the opportunity to network and foster team spirit.
Attractive cash prizes of up to S$1200 await the winning top team! Among the prizes are the top 3 ranking of (1)Teams, (2)Ladies / Men and (3)Individual categories. Simply form a team comprising of 3 representatives and be treated to a day of fun and excitement! As a gesture of our appreciation for your support, SIM/UOL bowlers will enjoy a 10% discount when you submit more than 3 teams for this coming championship!

Preliminaries (Choose any date and venue)
6th, 13th & 20th September 2003 (Saturdays)
Time: 2.30pm to 5.30pm
7th, 14th & 21st September 2003 (Sundays)
Time: 10.30am to 1.30pm
Venue: Choose either Cathay Bowl Orchard Cineleisure or Super Bowl Marina Square (First come first served basis)
Finals
5th October 2003 (Sunday)
Time: 10.30am to 2.30pm
Venue: Super Bowl Marina South
Fees: S$18 per participant
Clsoing Date: 23rd August 2003

Plus, my fren from MDIS say this is supposedly a big thing, so... should be worth something mentioning in future during orientation if we win. -

if u guys are serious better get into your teams and start training. if not, y bother. i might suggest the previous sim/nus lineup with afew changes. refer to fox. but then agian, many of us havent been training. so its up to u guys. can something be decided fast? getting tired of waiting always for official word.

Official word is yes they will subsidise. How much??? They dun know....yet.
So the thing is this, get into your teams and start training.
I have already collected the official forms and the posters which i will put up in school..... 
Hopefully we'll have more people signing up... -
Maybe let those competitive yr1 bowlers try it.... hmmm... would be a great experience

They advertised on papers too(under MDIS ads) and from the looks of it... all bowlers are welcomed. There's qualifying you see... seems challenging and the standards should be good

Hey Guys,
To date, MDIS have received 6 entries from SIM. Good Luck to all the 6 teams participating in the preliminary on the 20th September 2003!All supporters remember to cheer your SIM teams on that day @Cathay Bowl Orchard Cineleisure from 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
It's gonna be a challenging fight as we have about 150 teams vying for the top 34 place in the finals. Let's hope SIM qualify for the finals and win the coveted $1200 in cash prizes!

I turn 21 on the 18th of Sept by the way.....sigh......

And I have 23 days to recover from a possible torn calf muscle to be able to play at all.
Given the severity of the problem, I doubt I can make it in time. I'm trying nonetheless, to recover. But this kind of injury, usually takes up to 2 or 3 mths for full recovery.

Bowling isn't that strenuous so maybe it'll be alright after all
