DBS cheque clearance

  Hi,
  
  I just deposited a cheque at DBS last Monday at 8:30 PM. When will I get the amount? It says that I should get it after one working day so am I suppose to get in on Tuesday? It's already Wednesday and I'm not seeing the amount. Could it possibly that it had been delayed?
  
  Maybe it has been dishonoured? If so, will the bank call me? Need some answers

  At the back of the cheque, you need to write your bank account number, name and contact number.

  So if anything, bank will call you.

  Thank you for the answer. I did write my name, account number, and contact number correctly. Even checked it 4 times before dropping the cheque. So it's possible that it has been delayed? The bank has not contacted me yet.

  if no, call the bank.

  Ahhh, thank you. Well, I'll get back to this forum if I didn't get the amount. I'm not seeing it on this ledger balance. Is it normal? Like I should wait for 11:00 PM  before seeing the amount in Ledger balance?

   

  By the way, I'm new in Singapore. Glad that I found this forum. Lurking around here recently :D

  Cheques that are cleared on the processing day itself will be marked as a "float" amount.

  The amount will only then be transferred to the actual bank account balance the next day.

  I see. So since yesterday, the cheque could possible be marked as a float? and that's one of the reason why I'm not seeing it today? Sorry for the questions. I'm quite new to this

  any cheque deposit b4 3 30pm that day will clear the next day after 2pm

  your cheque deposit after 8 30pm the next day cannot clear liao

  have to wait for one more day after 2pm
